We visited Rice Lake NWR in the middle of the afternoon when we didn’t see a lot of wildlife. Even with our wildlife viewing at a minimum we were touched by the sheer beauty of the reserve. Rice Lake is breathtaking and the accessible viewing platform is the best one we’ve seen so far in our traveling adventures. The platform had 2 levels for viewing and the first level was completely accessible for wheelchairs, crutches or canes.
