Colusa NWR is part of the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex (Complex) is located in the heart of the Sacramento Valley about 90 miles north of the city of Sacramento. The Complex consists of five national wildlife refuges (NWR) and three wildlife management areas (WMA) that comprise over 35,000 acres of wetlands and uplands. In addition, there are over 30,000 acres of conservation easements in the Complex. The Refuges and easements are part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service); they serve as resting and feeding areas for nearly half the migratory birds on the Pacific Flyway. Hours vary for each refuge. The auto tours/trails on Sacramento NWR, Colusa NWR, and Llano Seco are 1 hour before sunrise to 1 hour after sunset.
